chemo went well on wednesday. i am at work today, not feeling too bad yet, but i am still raging on the 'roids.
i am expecting for the worst of the chemo crash to hit over the weekend. my plan is just to sleep through it. not dragging my chemofied self to work should be a good change.
this weekend and monday will tell me whether i want to stick with wednesday as my treatment day. so far, so good.

the ct scan from last friday came back stable/good.
there is still fluid in the lining of my left lung and around my heart, but those have been there consistently throughout my treatment. the amount seems to fluctuate, there was more this time. but dr. kent & i attribute that to the fact that i had just gone through that bout with the upper respiratory stuff.

dr. kent and i discussed my options for switching doctors when she leaves in june. the doctor (richard mckittrick) i am leaning toward works out of the south location (435 & holmes), so that would be more of a transition than just picking someone at the SW location where i have been since i started all of this back in 2000.
everything i hear about dr. mck. makes me more convinced that the move would be worth it. i work and live between the two locations, so it shouldn't be further to drive and might even be closer.
i got a lot of insight into dr. mck. and the south location from my chemo nurse, margie. she typically works there, but was filling in that day. she and i talked quite a bit about the differences between the locations, and about mckittrick as a doctor, co-worker, and man. i thought it was pretty ironic that she was my nurse on the very day i needed more information to help make my decision.
i have an appointment with him on monday, 5/12. i will know more about him and the south location after that.

thanks to vinda, i have a new selection of scarves to cover my perpetually bald head.
today i am wearing one with blue stars on it. does she know me or what?!!?
thank you SO MUCH for taking such good care of me, vin!

like my new blue swirly background?
i have been searching for the perfect background and i knew this was it as soon as i saw it. it just felt right. so i right-clicked it, saved it, and made it mine.
***
i accidentally stumbled upon the new background when i did a search for a picture of 'crooked eyebrows' for this post. i didn't find any, but i did find my perfect background (til i get bored and change things again).
anyway...
i wanted to tell you about how i can never quite get my eyebrows to match when i draw them on each day.
most days one side of me looks surprised, the other looks worried...or vice versa, or any combo of emotions.
when i get them right and the expression matches, i need to take a picture so i can reproduce that look. as it is, i just look mixed up and kinda crazy. which is not so far from the truth.
