Fall is Falling
- Chemo went well yesterday. I spoke to Dr. Doane for quite some time about the hell that was last week, and about our plans for the future. She is leaving at the end of December, so we are getting our plan together for my transition to another doctor in the same building at the beginning of December.
- Toye came and sat with me for a few hours, brought me some treats, and just hung out while I was hooked up to the drugs. It was very nice to get to have her there with me.
- My allergic reaction/itching is all gone. My cold is nearing its end. So hopefully those things will stay at bay as I get hit with the full force of the chemo later this week.
- My friend Sean is coming to town later this week because his mother was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is having to stay at KU Med for her daily treatments. It's just so maddening to hear of yet another wonderful person being hit by this terrible disease. I am glad I get to see him, but hate the reason for his visit.
- Today is my first day back in the office since last Thursday, just playing catch up at work and at home. Being sick and in doctors' offices most of last week really cut into my pre-chemo 'supposed to be feeling good and getting things accomplished' time. Just gotta let some of it go (home stuff) and get busy on some of it (work stuff).
- There was a Halloween gift basket waiting for me on my desk when I got here this morning from my sister and my nieces. How cool is that? Made my first day back a lot happier!
- As Vinda mentioned in her message in the C-box, the leaves are beginning to change colors...it is beautiful to witness. Except for all of the leaves in my yard...I love the big, old trees in my neighborhood most days, just not in the fall and/or when there is an ice or thunderstorm.
