Wednesday Update

that long post from friday was supposed to hold you over til i got around to blogging again. did it work?

here's what i've been up to since then, in case you were wondering:

• saturday - i ran a few errands, then went to lunch at oklahoma joe's and then to a park with kori, becky & izabella. after that i started organizing my utility room by throwing a bunch of junk that has accumulated in there over the years into the garage.

• sunday - i went through the above-mentioned junk and did this:
  

unfortunately, i didn't take a 'before' picture...
but trust me, this is a vast improvement

• i put together those shelves and the rack for my jackets, ballcaps, and other hats. after that,i moved to the garage and set it straight too (i won't bore you with pics of that...it's just a garage). it was perfect weather...not too hot, not too cold. i always feel my best right before chemo, so i took advantage the blessed nice weather/feeling good combo to do some much-needed, and long overdue organization. it felt so good to be able to do it, and then to just sit back and enjoy that feeling you get when things are in their proper place. or at least not piled up so you have to move 50 things just to get to one thing, and have everything falling on you in the process. you know what i mean.
  

• monday - chemo #whatever. cathi was with me and we had a great time talking to each other and some of the people around us. everything went well as far as my treatment goes, same old. afterward we went to target and then mimi's for dinner.

• tuesday - back to work, appointment with dr. jew (my breast surgeon) for our annual follow-up, no big deal. then the best part....book club! we met at kay's, ate pizza and talked. only one of us read the book, so we didn't really talk about books or reading all that much...but it was fun to just be together.
  

• today - work. no more appointments until my weekly blood draw on friday. this is actually a good week at work since most everyone is gone to our annual meeting in chicago. those of us who got 'left behind' get to wear jeans all week and have a big potluck lunch tomorrow. personally, i think we get the better end of the deal.
  

• i am feeling okay so far. just the usual week of chemo stuff. tired, shaky...just weird and wrong. there really are no words to articulate how this feels. there is no base of comparison for people who have never felt it. it's like no tired you've ever felt, and it's like no sick you've never felt...or ever want to. not that anyone really ever wants to feel sick or tired...or have chemo.
