Happy 8th, Ashton!!!

~the birthday girl~
this was taken on our arkansas trip last month,
uncle kori taught her one of his favorite pastimes

Happy Birthday, Ash!!!

- first off, the reason you're here...my health update: PT/INR from monday was low, so they upped my dosage.

- my body is still very achy all over...feels like i'm 80. very tired too. blahblah...i'm starting to feel & sound like a broken record here.

- i don't miss chemo one bit, but this blood clot/coumadin thing really kinda sucks too in its own way.
there are about a gajillion things that can interact with coumadin (warfarin is the generic name), along with some lovely side effects.

- i do feel like i've got a bit more strength and energy though.

- uncle charles, aunt cathy, and kristin arrived safely today
.

- heading to mom & dad's for dinner tonight...spaghetti, yum!

- the weather is cooler and i am so stoked about that, because....

- i have the day off tomorrow, going to deanna rose farmstead with the fam (do those 360 camera thingys make anyone else nauseous?)

- heading to westin crown center saturday with family & friends.

- race for the cure is sunday.

- i have monday off to recuperate from weekend. will probably go to lunch and to loose park with my family that day.

- i also have my next PT/INR test on monday.

- vin: many thanks for the hanks...they are beautiful! i'm almost afraid to use them on my drippy nose. i was in that store and never saw them!

- after work last night i mowed my front yard for the first time in 2 years. it felt so good to do it myself. i have always liked the sense of accomplishment i got when i woke up the next morning to a freshly cut lawn. that's how today started for me.

- good times!!!!!

Climbing to the top
I'll tell you anything you want
We're on this planetary journey
To a place beyond

The independent minds will tell you
The colors you should wear
But know the game of life
Is just a game of solitaire

Climbing to the top
The ones you love will come and go
When you lose you sacrifice
Chasing the rainbow
And if you should climb this magic ladder
The story will unfold
Just remember when you reach the top
All that glitters is not gold

Time, just take the time
What you think is what you find
You know the answers
You're no ordinary dancer
Face the changes you go through
Have the faith in what you do
You know the answers
You're no ordinary dancer

Climbing to the top
I'll tell you anything you want
Were on this planetary journey
To the place beyond
You can climb the highest mountains
Swim the deepest seas
The only thing that matters
Is you will find your destiny

You know the answers
You're no ordinary dancer

Climbing to the top
I'll tell you anything you want
You're on an imaginary journey
To a place beyond
You can climb the highest mountains
Swim the deepest seas
The only thing that matters
Is you will find your destiny

Climbing - Lionel Richie

let me just say i have never heard that song before and i don't particularly like it, but i do like the lyrics. i googled 'climbing lyrics' to find a song to go along with ashton's picture and this is one of the songs that popped up.

also, i LOVE zappos.com. i placed an order with them last night around 5pm for a pair of flip flops that are supposed to be good for people with plantar facsiitis. i asked for standard/free shipping, they sent me this message about 3 hours later:

Although you originally ordered Standard (4 to 5 business days) shipping and handling, we have given your order special priority processing in our warehouse and are upgrading the shipping and delivery time frame for your order. Your order will ship out today and be given a special priority shipping status so that you can receive your order even faster than we originally promised!

Please note that this is being done at no additional cost to you. It is simply our way of saying thank you for being our customer.

say what? who does that? how cool!!!

i am typing this at 7:00am friday morning, i just went to ups.com for tracking info and they say my package has arrived in KC (from Kentucky!) and will be delivered to my door shortly. that's just a little more than 12 hours after i placed my order. incredible!

now i just hope the shoes fit/work. anyone who suffers from PF knows how challenging it can be to find the right shoes. if they don't work though, zappos has free return shipping. even though i know i could find the shoes cheaper elsewhere, that kind of service is priceless.

i've bumped up my vacation post, added more pics with more to come. it's just below this one.
