Kitty in the Sky

Garfield says hi
waving thru the trees*

CT results are stable, but with 'moderately increased pleural effusion' since my last CT in June.

I fear that this along with some of my other tell-tale signs signal the beginning of the end of my 'chemo break'.

Back in 2006 when this all of this began, PE was one of the indicators that my cancer was back. My recurrence was located in my sternum and was irritating the lining of my left lung which was causing the fluid to build up.

Chemo seemed to keep that at bay, but with no chemo for the last few months it is happening again. Back in '06 they had to drain the fluid off through a procedure called thoracentesis (not pleasant). Dr. McK mentioned having that done again if the PE continues to increase.

I will be getting another chest x-ray in the next few weeks to compare to the one I had in July. We are using this test as a way to track the PE as well as the CT's every other month.

I see the doctor again on 9/22, and will have CT & bone scan in October.

PT/INR was low today. Guess I better get to drinking to bring it up.

Just in time for the long weekend....perfect!

*I took this poor quality cell phone picture when I was in Arkansas with my family. I was sitting out on the deck in the one spot we could get cell phone coverage and noticed that there was a formation of the tops of trees that looked like a cat's head popping up through the trees with his paw up like he was waving. See???
