But hey, when you have so much for which to be grateful, sometimes the sap's just gotta flow...so, here goes:
I am so blessed to be surrounded by the people in my life, I'm not sure what I did to deserve all of you, but I am so very grateful that you're always in my corner. I don't think I could make it through all of this without each and every one of you...near and far. And not just the hard/bad times, you've been there for all of the good times too. I can never thank you all enough or find the right words to express my gratitude, but please know that it is always there.
Enough of that sappiness, now here's some more.
It has been a great week, and I have a lot of people to thank for that:
- To Toye & Stephanie: for another of our wonderful girls' nights. Toye, thanks to you and your family for the hospitality and for the birthday sign (it's hanging up in my house now). Thanks also to you both for the early b-day presents...the laughter picture (so true), the reminder of my tambourine-playing days, and the gift cards which you know will be put to good use. You girls truly are a light that keep me going and I always look forward to when we can see each other again (January, perhaps?).
- To my book club girls: for another awesome holiday dinner and just a fun time together. Our little club and our times together mean so much to me....a true highlight of my life. Also thanks to Vinda for the ride there and back, and for the very special bookmark.
- To my lovely sister-in-law, Becky: for taking me to chemo yesterday and for the yummy cupcakes. But most especially for being there for me, for my brother, and being part of our family. It was so nice to have some one-on-one time to just sit and talk. It really meant a lot to me to share that time with you. Chemo is not fun, but being with the people I love sure helps make it a lot more tolerable.
- To Kori: for the food you brought for us...that helped so much and it was delicious, as always.
- To Deb: for the beautiful postcard from Hawaii. I hope you had a great time, you certainly deserve it after all you've been through this year. I'm looking forward to hearing/reading all about it and seeing the pictures.

Okay, now down to bid-ness:
Things went very well yesterday at chemo. We got there at 10:30 and were done by 1:45. I am feeling good so far, I feel little side effects beginning to kick in...some stomach stuff, taste bud stuff, the usual steroid stuff, but that's it so far.
I am planning to run a few errands today to get things in order for the coming week when I know I won't feel like doing anything.
After the new year I will be switching my chemo days to Monday on a trial basis just to see if I like it. If not, I'll switch back to Fridays. I'm trying to have less days where I feel terrible at work and more good weekend days. This way my worst days should hit toward the end of the first week and weekend, then I should have a good week, weekend, week, and weekend before my next Monday treatment. We'll see how that goes though.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!!!

Kind & Generous

La-La-La-La-La...
You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness, I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it
La-La-La-La-La...
Hey-hey-hey-hey-hey...
You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come this far without you
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it
La-La-La-La-La...
Oh, I want to thank you for so many gifts you gave
The love and tenderness
I wanna thank you
I want to thank you for your generosity
The love and the honesty that you gave me
I want to thank you, show my gratitude
My love and my respect for you
I wanna thank you
Oh, I want to thank you, thank you
Thank you, thank you, thank you
Thank you...

Hey, Girlfriend,
Thinking of you today (and all days). I posted more under your Christmas Tree skirt...(ha, that sounded funny, but probably only to me)entry.
We could almost have a scavenger hunt of message board postings, couldn't we? Just like the old scavenger hunts we used to set up at my house. (Your next clue is under the coffee can in the garage!) Sorry, I'm delirious.
Love,
Shell
