It's Friday in my Mind

Happiness is when what you think, what you say,
and what you do are in harmony.
~ Gandhi

Here's what I keep thinking...once I switch my treatment days to Mondays, today (day 4) would be Friday for me. Typically days 4-9 are the worst. And here it is only Tuesday with the rest of the work week to get through. Luckily it's an easy week, I got a lot accomplished last week in anticipation for the ensuing week of crap that this week is/promises to be.

Best of all, though, we get Friday afternoon off in lieu of a company Christmas party. So I've decided to just take the morning off and make a day of it. The weather is supposed to be in the 60's. How often does that happen in mid-December? I probably won't be feeling too great that day, but we all have to take the good times (and good weather) when we can get them, don't we?

It'll be payday too, so I might actually get to get started on my Christmas shopping. Yes, you heard me right...started. My lovely new Christmas skirt is still void of any gifts.

Have you seen the commercial where the guy gives his son bologna for Christmas? That'll be me..."hey four little nieces of mine, you like sandwiches, right?!!?"

Kel,

Personally, I love bologna.

Hey, wanted to let you know about Eric's day of surgery. He went in at 6:30, they started his surgery at 7:30. (Yes, he was first in line. Another sgt. was in the next room and had the same type of surgery with same doctor right after Eric!)

He was out quickly and the surgery went well. But the anesthetics didn't agree with him and he threw up all day. They put him on an I.V. to hydrate him and I finally got to bring him home at 5 p.m. He's doing pretty well, but can't drive and must wear the sling for min. of 4 weeks. (Do you know how stircrazy he will be on week 2? 3? 4?)

He's doing pretty well tonight.

I hope your symptoms ease up on you. I'll call when you start feeling better.

Love ya,

Shell

i love bologna too, especially cut up into pieces, fried....dipped in mustard. i've discovered this tasty little treat just recently.

oh man, what rough day. those knock you out meds always make me sick too, so i always have to warn them to give me anti-nausea drugs. poor guy, that's miserable.

not driving for 4 weeks? he will be going stir crazy. i've been playing a lot of yahtzee and backgammon lately, maybe you can get him to play a tournament of some sort of game with you and/or the girls to keep him busy.

hope you get some sleep after your long day.

hugs to you all,
kel
