Hello 2008!

Wishing you all only good things for 2008.
May the year bring you much love,
happiness, and peace.

Happy New Year!!!

The inspiring Jen Lemen has written a great post about the 25 things she never gets tired of -- what a great subject to focus on as we begin a new year.

I encourage you to come up with your own. Nothing like focusing on the happy to start off a brand new year.

I can't limit myself to 25, so here are a bunch of things I cherish, in no particular order:

really good food
full moons
the ocean
good music
long, hot showers
childrens' laughter
clean sheets and a freshly made bed
words
the way new books, bookstores, and libraries smell
fireplaces
front porches
porch swings
decks
screened-in porches
synchronicity
thunderstorms
comfortable silence
browsing in bookstores
the blogosphere
naps
sunset
sunrise
twilight
a great pair of jeans
clutter removal...the purging of accumulated stuff
the smell of freshly cut grass
a good book
belly laughs
night swimming
the smell of bread baking
walking on the beach
limes
towels fresh from the dryer
christmas lights
soft, cozy blankets
stars
warm rain
walking at night
the smell of fall
summertime
hardware stores
candlelight
seeing my family and friends happy
floating down a river
the fresh, clean, everything-is-new-again feel of spring
sparkly things
fireworks
lyrics
rainbows
the sound a cork makes when it's pulled out of a bottle
soft lighting
the feeling of driving away
the feeling of coming home
feeling connected to my family by blood and our memories
feeling connected to my friends by our memories
