Yumminess

I had one (yes, only one...shut up) of these this weekend. Can you guess where I was just from the picture? Click on the pic to see if you were right. Not my favorite restaurant by any means; but a good, quick stand-by that's nearby and affordable.

I have the day off tomorrow to get my new car registered and licensed. I also have to get my drivers license renewed. Last time I did it was 6 years ago (per Kansas law) and I was going through chemo and wearing a wig then too. What are the odds? Pretty high if you're me apparently. I was looking forward to getting a new wig-free picture, but noooooooo. Oh well, at least my new one won't be all bent up from being in my back pocket when I went out dancing one night. No clue how that happened since my backside is anything but(t) pointy or bony.

Also, book club is at my house tomorrow night (YAY...can't wait!!!), so I'll be preparing for that in the afternoon. Although...my prep time has now been significantly cut because my dear friend Vinda offered to help me out by bringing some of her delicious cooking. She said we didn't have to tell anyone that I didn't cook it and I was like, 'Yah right, I think everyone'll know right away that it's not my cooking.' I'm all about quick and simple, especially now.

My new front license plate should be here this later this week. Since I got my car on the Missouri side, it's got an empty front license plate holder. I went online and found a place that will put any image you want on it, so I got this (you can click on it to see it closer up):

Book club, Vinda's graciousness, new license plates, and I get to see Toye on Friday. It's shaping up to be an excellent week and it's only Monday.

I LOVE the new plate. Did you draw the artwork? And where do you find all the great photos you post on your blog? I am taking baby steps trying to post photos to my blog and different boards I belong to, but most of hte time I have trouble.

Hope you had a great time at book club. That sounds like a blast. I also love the book "Me talk pretty one day". Have you read his other books? They are all good. If you like him, you might want to try The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club by Laurie Notaro. She is a hoot.

Have fun with the new car.

Hi Deb,

I did not draw the artwork, it's the logo of the Sisters in Survivorship (SIS) group. They are a Yahoo group specifically for young women who've been diagnosed with breast cancer. If you click on the butterfly down on the bottom of the sidebar it'll take you to their website in case you want to check it out.

Most of the photos I post are either from Webshots.com or Flickr.com. I use Flickr more these days because Webshots changed their format and I don't like it as well.

Book club was a great time. This was the first Sedaris book I have read. I'm the one who got to choose this time and I purposely chose a book I thought would be light and funny and easy to read. This book totally fit the bill on all accounts...we all loved it.

The lady at the DMV yesterday told me that I should read the one he wrote about Christmas (Holidays in Ice). Have you read that one?

I'll check out the Notaro book. Book club takes a break over the holidays so we get to read whatever we want. First, I need to finish up "Can't Wait to Get to Heaven"...I keep falling asleep every time I try to read. Maybe I'll take advantage of my upcoming steroid-induced craziness and get some reading done for a change!

I just read your blog, good to know I'm not the only impatient patient out there.

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Hugs,
Kelly
