i hope everyone had a safe and happy thanksgiving!
just a quick update in case anyone's checking in over the long weekend:
not much going on with me other than still feeling pretty bad, but hopefully that'll break here in the next few days. i'm hoping to be feeling better at least by tomorrow evening since that's when our family is getting together to celebrate thanksgiving, and definitely by monday when i have to go back to work.
i didn't do too much yesterday...other than cook off and on throughout the day and rest between bouts of cooking. for some reason when i'm going through chemo i always feel like cooking, but then nothing tastes good so i don't really eat what i cook. the weather was absolutely gorgeous, so i did spend a little time outside sitting in the sunshine breathing in some fresh air.
i didn't feel up to going to the plaza for our annual lighting ceremony tradition, but i did watch it on tv (not nearly as exciting or fun). vinda sent me a few pics, so that helped. i ended up falling asleep on the couch at around 9:00pm. SO not like me...not even on a work night, much less a 'weekend' night.
today i go in for my weekly bloodwork. other than that i'm just going to take it easy, maybe run a few errands while i'm out and try to avoid the crazy day-after-thanksgiving shoppers. i've never been into shopping, so i've always avoided stores the day after thanksgiving and the day after christmas. quite honestly, i avoid malls every day, but especially between now and january...you couldn't pay me to go to a mall today (even if i wasn't sick).
i'd like to get my christmas stuff down from the attic while it's still warm out, but i don't feel like dealing with all that hoopla just yet. one holiday at a time...one day at a time.

Hey girl,
Long time no talk! I like the car! Don't you love the electronic goodies? That's the coolest thing about mine. OK, I am remembering 3 of the cars. What was #2 after "the Green Machine"? Tell me you are making copies of all your blogs to put in your book after this chemo fun is finished and you are well. This stuff will make a great book for those who must take your path after you. (Not to mention the $ to be made from your wit and wisdom!)
I'll try to call again. Do you know your 2007 chemo dates yet? I'm standing in line.
Did another p.o. use your ID to scrape the paint off his bumper? I agree...neither of us has a pointy butt!

Kel,
By the way, I'm feeling my age and physical condition. The girls and I went to 1984 Sat. night...I think I sprained my wrist playing the video games!!! Who knew Space Invaders was so dangerous?

COME ON SHELL YOU WERE IN BETTER SHAPE THAN ANY OF US IN SCHOOL!! TELL ERIC HEY. I REMEMBER THE GREEN MOBILE. D
Hey D,
I have made a very sad discovery. I ran (because Trish made me) for an important reason. I was outrunning the food I ate. Since I stopped running, the calories have now caught up to me, found out who I am, and mugged me.

after the green machine (aka 'the booger') came the burgundy ford escort.
first chemo in '07 will be monday, 1/22. that'll be the trial run on trying to have chemo on a monday instead of friday. based on how that goes, i may switch to mondays or stick with fridays.
what's a p.o.? police officer? i'm forgetting things....
1984...that place was a blast (from the past)! the two places we went after were fun too (from what i can recall anyway...damn double vodka cranberries)!
you should wear wristbands the next time you play video games. it'll look cool, i promise. ;o)~
Yes, p.o. is police officer. I remeber a police officer running into your car (as we were headed to the liquor store after the bar closed!) He then took your driver's licence and then scraped the paint off his bumper!
I don't even remember where we went after 1984 and I'm not taking chemo.
I did get geeky and buy a couple of pins at 1984...one said Save Ferris and the other had a picture of Michael Jackson from one of his early records (yes vinyl). The caption read: "Remember when this wasn't creepy?"
It's great to hear from you.
who us??? heading to a liquor store after the bars closed??? no way, i don't believe it.
i do remember the p.o. thing now....whatta jerk!!!
was that the time he made terri drive cuz he thought she was the most sober one in the car (even tho she was actually the drunkest)? then there was the time that i was trying to open vinda's sunroof and it went flying off and shattered on glenstone (sorry, vin).
we went to ernie biggs piano bar, and then that one bar that had a live band....is it harlow's?
i remember when mj wasn't creepy. i used to watch the jackson 5 show when i was a little girl.
and you had michael jackson's 'off the wall' album. i remember dancing to 'rock with you' in your parent's hallway in front of the full length mirror. you stood behind me since i was, like, a whole foot shorter than you.
oh and also, us thinking that 'she's out of my life' was the saddest song ever....
"She's out of my life
And I don't know whether to laugh or cry
I don't know whether to live or die
And it cuts like a knife
She's (mj sighs/chokes back tears) out of my life."
now i know he must've been faking.
Kel,
Michael was only crying cuz she took her kids when she left. (sorry...tacky)
Yes, Earnie Biggs and Harlows. It's all coming back to me now.
I remember dancing in the hallway, too...and doing our cheerleader chant...Powerbeat...rockin' beat... for hours at a time. I don't know how our parents survived. Ha!
