Them Bones

Here's how my day went:
  • 9:30: Drove to work.
  • 11:30: Drove to KCCC for weekly bloodwork. My counts are still low, but they are heading back up. I should be fine by chemo time next Tuesday. They'll test my blood again on Friday just to make sure.
  • 11:45: Drove next door to Johnson County Imaging to get radioactive dye injected. You have to wait a few hours after the injection for the scan to be done so that the dye can work its way through your body.
  • 12:00: Drove back to work for 1:00 meeting (lay-offs are coming...yikes).
  • 1:00: Had to sit on floor for meeting because chairs were all taken. Me and a very pregnant girl. On the floor. Are there no more gentlemen or women with hearts left in this world? I would have offered my chair to either one of us before I sat in a chair for an hour while a pregnant woman or a woman going through chemo sat on the freaking floor. C'mon people.
  • 2:30: Drove back to JCI for bone scan. See above picture. No, that's not me, my bones are not that big (and I'm pretty sure that's a man), I looked over and saw them on the screen. Mine looked just like the picture, only smaller. The shorter you are the less time it takes, so needless to say, I was out of there pretty quickly. There are advantages to being such a shorty.
  • 3:30: Drove back to work.
I won't know the results of this scan for a few days. I'll post the results as soon as I hear something from Dr. Doane's office.

I am feeling good these days. Still very tired, but that is to be expected. I think it's my body's way of coping with all of the drugs. I can sleep a bit better now, but it never feels like enough. If I wasn't getting hit with chemo every three weeks I think that feeling would dissipate and eventually I would get back to my normal energy levels. At least now I have a excuse for being a lazy butt!
