Dragonflies

"In the bottom of an old pond lived some grubs who could not understand why none of their group ever came back after crawling up the lily stems to the top of the water. They promised each other that the next one who was called to make the upward climb would return and tell what had happened to her.

Soon one of them felt an urgent impulse to seek the surface; she rested herself on the top of a lily pad and went through a glorious transformation which made her a dragonfly with beautiful wings. In vain she tried to keep her promise. Flying back and forth over the pond, she peered down at her friends below. Then she realized that even if they could see her they would not recognize such a radiant creature as one of their number.

The fact that we cannot see our friends or communicate with them after the transformation which we call death is no proof that they cease to exist."

The Dragonfly Project - A Message of Hope for Those Who are Grieving

I continue to feel better each day. Having the day off Monday was amazing! The weather was absolutely perfect...sunny and in the 80's. It felt so good to just be outside and to not have to be at work, at home, or my doctor's office...the three places I spend the most time these days.

I went back to work and to my doctor on Tuesday. As expected, my counts are in the danger zone but should be rebounding daily.

Looking forward to: The weekend, Easter Sunday with my family, The Soprano's season premiere, book club next Tuesday, going to the Rod Stewart concert with Toye and Steph next Friday.

Check out this picture Terri sent me, it is dated April 1987...20 years ago!!! I wish she was in the picture too, then 4 out of my 5 best friends (not including my family, of course) would be with me on that couch (I met the fifth one (Cathi) about 10 years later). (Wow...that's a lot of parentheses!)
