Oddy Oddy Seep

There are only two people on this earth who will know what today's title means. Until now, that is. When I was a baby, for some reason that was how I heard and subsequently said the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer. Mom & Dad, did you ever have my ears checked?

I am still tired, but feeling pretty good otherwise. I forced myself to go to bed earlier last night, but I woke up almost every hour. And for some reason, my crazy body and brain seem to think that 4:00 and/or 5:00am are a great time to be wide awake. I read myself back to sleep, but then I ended up sleeping through my normal get-up, eat breakfast, take a shower time and having to just get ready quickly and get myself to work.

One good thing about having no hair though is not having to worry about washing/styling it all the time...or buying shampoo, or getting hair cuts. Just throw on a cap, scarf, or wig and go!

Well I know
I can see it in your eyes
You're tired of fighting everyday
Trying to struggle through the night
Yes I know that it's hard to carry on
So just lay down your heard
And in your dreams you will be strong

Sleep like a child
Peaceful and deep
And when you lay you down
I pray your soul to keep
Oh like a child
Peaceful and deep

Sleep like a child
Peaceful and deep
And I when you lay you down
I pray your soul to keep

to my fellow music lover - here's a very fitting one....

Who Needs Sleep?
Barenaked Ladies

Now I lay me down not to sleep
I just get tangled in the sheets
I swim in sweat three inches deep
I just lay back and claim defeat

Chapter read and lesson learned
I turned the lights off while she burned
So while she’s three hundred degrees
I throw the sheets off and I freeze

Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
That I won’t sleep
I countdown, I look around

Who needs sleep?
(well you’re never gonna get it)
Who needs sleep?
(tell me what’s that for)
Who needs sleep?
(be happy with what you’re getting
There’s a guy who’s been awake
Since the second world war)

My hands are locked up tight in fists
My mind is racing filled with lists
Of things to do and things I’ve done
Another sleepless night’s begun

Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
That I won’t sleep
I countdown, I look around

Who needs sleep?
(well you’re never gonna get it)
Who needs sleep?
(tell me what’s that for)
Who needs sleep?
(be happy with what you’re getting
There’s a guy who’s been awake
Since the second world war)

Who needs sleep?
(well you’re never gonna get it)
Who needs sleep?
(tell me what’s that for)
Who needs sleep?

There’s a guy who’s been awake
Since the second world war)

There’s so much joy in life,
So many pleasures all around
But the pleasure of insomnia
Is one I’ve never found
With all life has to offer,
There’s so much to be enjoyed
But the pleasures of insomnia
Are ones I can’t avoid

Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
That I won’t sleep
I countdown, I look around

Hala hala hala...

Who needs sleep?
(well you’re never gonna get it)
Who needs sleep?
(tell me what’s that for)
Who needs sleep?
(be happy with what you’re getting
There’s a guy who’s been awake
Since the second world war)
