Let There Be Light

My Invention
(necessity really IS the mother of all invention)

For those of you who haven't heard, I lost power last night around 6:45. When I left for work this morning, I still didn't have power.

My car was trapped in the garage until I climbed up on the trunk and pulled that little red handle thing and then used all of my strength to lift the door. Thank goodness it's just a single car garage or there would have been no way.

It was a fun night at Casa de Kelly. No really, it was! I took notes by candlelight and plan on sharing with you some of the "Things I Learned During the Great Icestorm of 2007".

I took a late lunch and drove home to see if power had been restored to my 'hood. I am happy to report that is has...for now. I'm not counting on anything until this ice melts. Oh, and I accidentally broke that little red handle thing in the process of reconnecting the door to the opener. Oops.

So...stay tuned for my icestorm report. It'll be here complete with a pic or two when I get the time and energy to type up what I wrote...if I can read it, that is.
