You'll Shoot Your Eye Out

not my house or pic..but i wish!

In keeping with grand holiday tradition (in my house), here's what I'll be watching for Christmas Eve:

I have been running errands and eating like a pig the past few days.

I'm not a huge chocolate or sweets fan, but I have had:

1) hot chocolate (thank you Toye and Steph for re-introducing me to this cozy treat...hey, I think I might have some butterscotch shnapps!)

2) Cherry Cordial Kisses...

3) Almond Roca (one of my all-time favorite candies)...
4) These stupid/addictive things...

They were in a gift basket we had at work that had 4 different kinds of candies/nuts. See the ones not in the basket there in the pic? That's how many I ate. And we didn't have a big basket of them like in that pic, there were only like 10....so I ate a third of them. I would have eaten them all, but I didn't want to be rude. Apparently 33% rudeness was my limit that day. Had to save up the other 67% for the drive home and any shopping I might be doing later.

5) This cool new cookie dough I found at Target for $2.99. Quite possibly another addiction forming...

This stuff is temptation in a handy dandy tub for a weirdo like me who actually prefers doughs and batters over the finished product with most baked items. It is probably because of this reason that I also prefer my cookies soft, not crunchy...in case you were wondering.

Only problem is mine always come out crunchy (that is a hard word to type...try it...c-r-u-n-c-h-y. see? hard.) because I always cook them too long. And yes, I have and use a timer. I just lose interest. Adult ADD kicks in and next thing I know, I'm like, "Oh crap, the cookies!" Might need to carry the timer with me next time since I always walk away and forget, but the ticking makes me nervous. Fortunately for me, that bread trick really does work.

I read every word on the packaging, the tub, and their website to see if there was any warning in big letters that says, "WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT EAT THIS STUFF RAW!!! (unless you want to die, then be our guests; but please inform your relatives that they can't take us to court and become kajillionaires because we warned you (per our law team's advice) right on the package, you raw dough-eating freak.)"

Nope, none of that. It is good both raw and cooked, btw. The other varieties they have are chocolate chip & peanut butter. You can go to their website by clicking on the picture of the tub up there.

Updated Update: Look what Sean and I found on their website upon further inspection:

"Our cookie dough has been formulated to be free of trans fat and specially designed so that no bacterial growth may occur. So go ahead, indulge yourself with a big spoonful of cookie dough right out of the carton."

Kinda scary actually.

6) I also made a big pot of blurry veggie soup to eat in the coming days/week...

I have chemo today at 8:00am. Don't think my weight being too low will be an isssue.

I am hoping to get to go see Sean tonight. He is in town from Michigan to see his family. His schmoopie* is with her family this time, so he and I should be able to talk a bit more. If we can hide from all of his nieces and nephews, that is. For some reason, they love to hang out with us boring old people.
Sean is definitely the 'cool' uncle.

But also
since neither of us have kids of our own, we let them do/say stuff most parents wouldn't. We don't know all the kid rules, we're just like, "sure, go ahead and eat that whipped cream straight out of the can...here, let me show you how you can squirt it directly into your mouth".** That's the beauty of being an aunt or uncle...teach them annoying habits, then send them home with your siblings!

I'm going to Mom & Dad's tomorrow afternoon. Amazingly enough, I have presents for everyone. Weird combos of gift that are "wrapped" by being stuffed into gift bags with some soon to be fluffed up and inserted tissue. But gifts nonetheless.

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

Update: Just got home from chemo. Four hours from door-to-door and back...that's not bad! I was one of their first patients though, they hadn't had time for have any back-ups yet. Plus, they're closing early and it benefits them to move a little faster than normal. Hey, whatever it takes to get them to have my attitude for once...let's get this over with as fast as we can so I can get to the good stuff. Chop, chop!

Off to heat up some blurry soup, and then perhaps try to sneak in nap again today. Ahhhh....the good stuff....

I am taking most of the Kisses and Rocas in a cute little snowman tin to Sean's family tonight. As predicted, my weight was up 2 lbs. from the last time I was there. Still...I'm keeping the bing cherry things for myself!
*How about that? Without any forethought or planning, I worked in more Seinfeld references; and an overlapping one at that. I am good!

**This may or may not be something I taught my nieces. And my Uncle Charles may or may not be partially responsible for teaching them. Great-uncles and grandparents aren't above passing on annoying habits to children with whom they don't live.
