Candles & Rainbows for Deb

We're here to end it, I said
& she said, No, we're here to begin it
& then she turned & opened her arms
& everywhere I could see, there were people,
like bright birds, calling with a thousand voices
& suddenly I understood.
Here is where it begins.
With all of us, together giving our daughters
a world worth loving for a lifetime to come
.

Lifetime - Story People
(This 'story' was chosen to fund breast cancer research
for as long as it takes to find the Cure.)

My Alaskan friend, Deb is having a rough time right now. She's got swelling in the frontal lobe of her brain caused by her current treatments.

In solidarity with many others in the breast cancer community, I lit a candle (my special pink one) at 9:00pm in Deb's honor.

Please join with me in sending our prayers and good wishes to Alaska.

We're thinking of you, Deb and wishing you comfort and peace.

A song...just for you:

Update from Deb's Husband:

All,

As one comment said, No news IS good news. I've noticed improvement.

Deb now knows me & can identify the girls in pictures (they are at a swimming meet this weekend). Deb & I have spent the last few days doing the necessities, plus I have her walking. As you all probably know she is one tough girl. Yesterday she told me she wasn't going to walk with me. It took me 5 minutes to convince her to go. It was a great sign! She also seems to be surviving my cooking. The girls cringe when I'm going to cook! (I'm actually o.k.) Deb's just excellent. Well I'm babbling.

Thanks for all the concern, comments, prayers. Keep up the fight!

You go, Girl...stay fiesty!!!
