good thing i'm not scared

i saw dr. jew today before work for an emergency appointment.

nothing too major though.

just more needles, and more bandages.

the incision from my port insertion surgery that i had back on 9/29 is not healing properly. it has been bleeding & seeping lately. over a month should be plenty of time to heal.

but nooooo...

the skin on my left side was damaged by the radiation i had back in 2001, so it won't heal properly. there is a hole in my skin and the port is trying to poke out. gross.

sooooo...

dr. jew shot the area up with lidocaine, then put 3 stitches in. she also gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. it's not infected now, but she wants to make sure it stays that way.

i go back to see her in two weeks. if this doesn't work and the skin won't heal, i'll have to go back to have the port taken out. again.

i'm not sure if i'll be able to get another one. my right side has the clot, and the left side is obviously still messed up from all it's been through.

anyway...

i had a wonderful night with toye and steph last night, it was so good to just hang out and get caught up. we were supposed to watch the sex & the city movie, we had cosmos and toye brought some fabulous props for us. there was a feather boa for steph, a tambourine for me (long story), and i dug out a tiara for toye. but we were so busy talking that we never did watch the movie. it was perfect just the way it was.
