just a song for now...

7/11/02...only 3 (maybe 4) other people will know what this date is and why i chose this particular group.

Ha! Would this be a 20-year anniversary of something?! That's what I think of when I hear this song!

Love ya,

good guesses, but nope, nothing to do with our 20th reunion or any of my friends.

although...vinda and i actually do have memories of this song. we went to a don henley concert waaaaaaay back in the day (pre-brad) and i remember crying when this song played because it reminded me of my college b/f, rich. she and i had to leave our dates and walk away so she could comfort me (thanks, vin!).

that whole "i can see you, your brown skin shinin' in the sun, you got the top pulled down, and the radio on, baby" part just ripped my heart out (rich had a convertible).

i chose the eagles because they have special meaning to my family. tracy, kori and i took dad to their farewell tour on that date as our father's day gift to him that year. the eagles are one group that we all love and that concert holds a very special place in all of our hearts.

as dad drove me to a lot of my appointments early on with this recent go-around with this crap we were listening to the eagles in his car. the music calmed me down and of course me being me, i would always sing along.

i chose the song not because it has special meaning to us (other songs have more, and this isn't really even an eagles song), but because come to find out all of their other songs are so freaking sad.

i didn't want everyone to be sitting in front of their computers bawling their eyes out to 'wasted time', 'desperado', 'i can't tell you why', or 'best of my love' (et al) like i was.

love you guys,
~kel

a little voice inside my head said,
"don't look back, you can never look back"
