Good Stuff

Nelda from my doctor's office contacted me today with the results from my MRI on Saturday:

There is no cancer!!!

I'm feeling great this week, getting things accomplished in anticipation of next week. It's in the 40's here in KC today, so we're all running around acting like spring has sprung. It's supposed to drop back into the 20's and teens by tomorrow though, so we'll be jolted back to reality soon enough. In the meantime, I plan on taking advantage of the warmer temps and running a few errands after work.

Just wanted to share the good news and say thank you again for your continued love, support, and prayers.

Also looking forward to: Jordan's 10th birthday party this weekend. She just got braces today and I can't wait to see them!

That is SO great! Does this change anything in your treatment plan? I am doing a happy dance for you.

thanks everyone!!!! i didn't even realize i was nervous about this until i got the results yesterday. i've learned to just shut something in my brain down about these tests. i can't worry about them or else i'd go insane.

there will be no change in my treatment plan. there most likely would have been changes made if this test had shown something since that would mean that the cancer had spread to my bones. as it is though, we will continue treating the cancer that we know about and have been treating since june.

there probably will be changes made if any of my future tests show anything, or if what we're doing stops working. so far my CT scans have been good (in my case, good=stable). i get those done every third cycle, and a bone scan every sixth cycle. so basically, i just go from test to test hoping/praying for the best.

with cancer good test results don't necessarily mean good things in the short or long run. just like bad test results don't necessarily mean bad things. this is the reason my oncologist (and i) don't really put too much stock in the tests and their results. it's an imprecise science unfortunately.

i'm happy when i get good test results......but cautiously so. for any of us (cancer patient or not), all it takes is one bad test result to turn your whole world upside down.

hmmmm, this has gotten so long i think i might edit it and make it into a regular post. so some of you might read this twice.

anyway....thanks for being happy with me!!!
