waaaahhh

i am so sick right now.

not just normal chemo sick...which is bad enough. head/chest cold sick...which is bad enough. double the misery, double the fun...triple the tissue usage.

since my counts are low and still dropping i have to make sure this doesn't turn into something really big. like pneumonia. or whatever. my lung is still not normal from the stuff i had done to it last year. i stayed home from work yesterday. stayed in bed off and on all day.

this really sucks. i hate being sick. HATE it. not that anyone actually likes it, i suppose.

just had to whine for awhile. now, back to my regularly scheduled weekend of misery.

There should be a law that you can't get sick on top of chemo side effects! You poor thing...whine away! Just an FYI, if you have any chest congestion or sinus congestion ask your doc if you can take over the counter Mucinex. all is does is loosen the gunk up a bit so it is easier to blow/cough out. Fun topic huh? I'm talking about mucus! That’s almost as bad as moms comparing their babies bowel habits :) But seriously, Mucinex helped me a ton when I was on chemo and got sick. Good luck and watch your temp.

deb,

first and foremost: happy belated birthday! congrats on your weight loss! and i'm so sorry to hear about your aunt.

mucus? ehhh, nothing grosses me out. i have no pride whatsoever. i keep seeing those mucinex commercials and thinking that's what i need. i've been too sick to do anything but wander from room to room in my house...but mostly just stay in bed. my body gets sore from doing that too much though, so i finally took a shower today and i'm all out of energy just from that.

temp was 100 last nite, but it's back in normal range today. things always are the worst for me in the middle of the night it seems.

i go for my weekly bloodwork tomorrow. not sure if i'll be able to make it to work though. i can't eat much, so i've lost some weight too...but not in a good, healthy way like you.

As a good friend of mine says...it sounds like you have the yucka-pucka! I hope you have turned the corner and are feeling better. When you are already hung low with the chemo side effects getting a cold or the flu is totally unfair.

Glad your temp went back down. One of my foods of last resort when I was on chemo was a milkshake made with chocolate Ensure high protein drink, chocolate ice cream and some frozen strawberries in sugar syrup...give it a try.

Don't try for going to work. Rest up and get well my friend.
