believe

i was getting sick of looking at that silly butterfly picture, so i was forced to do an update so we can all look at a much better photo by a real photographer (you can click on the pic for more of her art).

in fact, i think you can look at some of my favorites on flickr by clicking here (or over on the sidebar under 'some stuff i like'). but i am warning you, if you like photography, this site can addictive. i'm telling you, it's like crack. i get to looking at my favorites favorites, and then their favorites, and then i'm adding more to my favorites. it's insane.

i am feeling pretty good these days. i've been doing some summer sale shopping. stocking up on shirts, shirts, and more shirts. nothing too exciting or wild, just basic stuff that will fit the bigger me, cover my fat curves, be comfortable and cool, and will cover my port. tall order to fill, but the v-neck tees seem to be the way to go right now.

i am happy the weekend is almost here. i am ready for some reading (only 50 more pages to go in '19 minutes'), cooking, eating, and sleeping...which is a typical weekend for me now.

other plans might include: seeing a movie with becky, farmers market, stereo shopping, and finding a body of water to sit by...possibly at loose park.

a song from my childhood that i heard with adult ears recently:

I don't believe in superstars, organic food or foreign cars
I don't believe the price of gold, the certainty of growing old

That right is right and left is wrong,
that north and south can't get along

That east is east and west is west,
and being first is always best.

But I believe in love, I believe in babies
I believe in mom and dad and I believe in you.

Well, I don't believe that heaven waits
for only those that congregate

I like to think of God as love,
He's down below, He's up above

He's watching people everywhere,
He knows who does and doesn't care

And I'm an ordinary man, sometimes I wonder who I am.
But I believe in love, I believe in music
I believe in magic and I believe in you.

I don't believe virginity is as common as it used to be
In working days and sleeping nights,
that black is black and white is white

That Superman and Robin Hood are still alive in Hollywood
That gasoline's in short supply, the rising cost of getting by.
But I believe in love, I believe in old folks
I believe in children, I believe in you.

I believe in love, I believe in babies
I believe in mom and dad and I believe in you...

I Believe in You - Don Williams

i never really thought about the words before til i heard it on my way back from s-field a few weekends ago. i was like, 'that's a pretty simple philosophy...and i totally agree with it.'

if you like that, you'll love this lady too:
