sorry about the lack of posting...it's been a bit of a busy week.

health stuff:

~ WBC (1.8) is on the rise, but ANC (0.4) was super low

~ which combined with way-too-cold weather, and way too many sick people caused me to have to cancel my birthday plans with vinda & kay :o(

~ my PT/INR (2.5) is right on target...finally

~ tumor marker has increased, but only slightly

~ based on this, dr. mck & i decided that i will stay on taxotere for now

~ next treatment will be 12/24

~ we discussed tweaking the steroid dosage since i love/hate those stupid things

~ tumor marker test will be repeated on 1/7

~ ct scan will be repeated on 1/9

~ i will see dr. mck again on 1/13

~ i see dr. jew on 12/30 to have my stitches taken out if everything is healed up enough.

my birthday was wonderful.

i spent sunday afternoon with my family. everyone except becky was there, mom made a roast and we had key lime pie.

on monday and throughout the week, i have received birthday wishes in the form of text messages, phone calls, e-mails, gifts...

The Hug Sweater

seriously, this is one of the softest, most comfortable things i have every worn. the words in the title of this post are literally the exact ones i used when i first slipped it on...as cheesy as it sounds, it really is like a hug you wear.

i have worn it every night since i received it from kori & becky on my birthday eve. i look forward to getting home to put it on...it is now part of my winter uniform.

it's got the hood that i can take on and off as my head alternates between freezing cold and burning up, and also that handy-dandy front pocket/pouch for all of the tissues and hankies i have to carry around now.

perfection!

(just a warning: they run kinda big and are meant to be long. just as a reference point, mine is a medium and it hits me mid-thigh because i'm not 6' tall like the models. i was at target today and saw that they have it in three colors: gray, aqua, and rose. you can click on the above pic, or here for more info.)
