It's been a good weekend overall, I've pretty much stuck to my plan to just take it easy and avoid the heat. I've gotten some decent rest here and there, done laundry, eaten well, and taken care of a few crises with only one still pending. I went to take a shower yesterday and the water never got hot...crisis time! I had done laundry earlier, so I knew it was working then. Paul talked me through lighting the pilot on the hot water heater. It was very scary since my hot water heater is gas and I thought I'd blow myself and/or my house to smithereens. Obviously, me and my house are still here, and I have hot water again...crisis #1 averted. Thank you, Paul!!!
Then....the make-up mirror I've had FOREVER decided to stop working yesterday. "Crisis" time again! I'm automatically thinking I'm going to have to go searching high & low to replace this stupid thing. So, on the off chance that I could find a simple solution (which usually never works for me), I removed the bulbs and took them with me to Lowe's today to see if I could find a match. They had some that looked the same, so $10 later the make-up mirror is as good as new...crisis #2 averted.
Crisis #3 is my lawnmower. Paul was mowing my yard this morning and he got the front yard done, but then had to stop because some kind of cable broke. Not sure what's going on with that, but I have a call into Chris (who's good at fixing things) to see if he can come by and take a look at it. The front yard looks great though...so, thanks again, Paul!!!
It's always something, and sometimes it's several things all at once. At least I'm feeling a bit better, my laundry's done, my yard is half mowed, and I'm planning on going to work tomorrow only to have Tuesday off for the 4th. Most of the company won't even be there, so it'll be an easy day...and maybe they'll let us go early (hint, hint...just in case any of the higher-ups are reading this)!
