It's a stormy night in KC. Earlier I got caught in a torrential downpour while I was driving home. I could barely see 3 feet in front of my car. Awfully dangerous, but thankfully I made it home safely.
I have several things to look forward to in the coming weeks:
* Kori's birthday is 7/13 and Becky's is 7/22. Our family will be getting together sometime soon to celebrate them!
* Michelle is coming in town next Monday/Tuesday for school business, so I'll get to see her while she's in KC! She might stay with me depending on how I'm feeling, and also the commute time to Rockhurst College from my house.
* Toye, Stephanie & I have a summer tradition where we take a day off from work (typically a Monday), and go to Steph's neighborhood pool with a cooler of food and cold beverages for the afternoon. After that we go back to Steph's house and watch a movie. We usually do this a few times each summer. We haven't been able to do it yet this summer, and I can't really be out in the sun much anyway...but, we have scheduled one of these days for Monday, 7/24. We'll still do everything we normally do, just minus the pool part. Toye's birthday is 7/21, so we'll be celebrating her as well! I'm super excited to actually have a day off of work where I won't be getting stuck with any needles and/or I'm not feeling sick. It IS summer after all, and it's high time for some FUN!!!
* My wonderful book club girls have agreed to move our meeting that was scheduled for 7/18 to the following week on 7/25 instead since I probably won't be feeling well next Tuesday (not to mention some of us haven't finished the book yet). Book club is one of my favorite things so I'm very excited to see everyone on the 25th!
I continue to feel better and better each day. Still working on getting things done while I feel good, it almost feels like the 'nesting' period that expectant mothers must go through right before their baby arrives. (Speaking of...Carie, how are you doing?)
Thanks to Terri, Toye, Vinda, Carie, Kristy, and Shauna for the recent cards! And to Diane, I saw a rainbow tonight and thought of you!!!
