This picture is an example of what I saw this morning as I took a walk through my 'hood. So very beautful with the sun shining through the mist. It was still fairly cool from yesterday's rain, but extremely humid (hence the mist).Went to work until around 12:00 and then I headed to the doctor's office for my weekly bloodwork and the CT scan. Luckily they are in the same building, glad I didn't have to run from building to building, cuz it is H-O-T out there...welcome to KC in the summertime!
Bloodwork is good, counts are working their way back into normal range. Woohooo...let the being around sick people and lettuce eating begin!!!
Next up was the CT scan. Drank a ton of nasty orange-flavored contrast dye (sorta like Tang, but the lady told me they make it with Crystal Light), got injected with the other dye stuff (the one that gives you that funky taste in your mouth and gives you that 'warm, fuzzy feeling'), laid there real still holding my breath, breathing normally, holding my breath, breathing normally, and so on...and then gratefully by about 2:45 I was finally FREE from the torture (except from the lovely side effects of ingesting/absorbing the nastiness mentioned above). I won't know the results of that test until I see Dr. Doane this coming Thursday, 8/3.
Now it's the weekend and thus far, I have: taken a nap, talked to Terri, piddled around in my yard, talked to Mom, and now I am in the process of painting my toenails while I update my blog. Is it really Friday night? Sounds/feels more like a Tuesday night (minus the nap).
Thank you to Jennifer for the sweet card, and to Britten for the gorgeous family portrait!!! Looking forward to seeing you on the 6th!!!
