I'm happy to report that Carie is doing fine and looking very pregnant! She is one of those women who just glows and looks absolutely gorgeous with her big baby belly. She buzzed my hair for me today after work and I feel SO much better...it's always good to take control of such an out of control situation. We didn't buzz it all the way bald, there's still some soft fuzz on my head. I forgot that your scalp kinda aches afterward, but I have some awesome Tea Tree Shampoo by Paul Mitchell that Carie gave me that I used last time on my head that conditions the scalp and feels wonderful in a minty/tingly sort of way.
After losing so much hair last night, all I could do was wear my 'Life is Good' ballcap to work today (which I'll probably be doing a lot over the summer). I didn't want to wear my wig while I still had hair on my head, plus I'm not totally ready to wear it yet...still rebelling. I left Carie's wearing a bandana/ballcap combo and then stopped to get some dinner at Imo's (St. Louis style pizza is my favorite...another not-so-interesting little tidbit about me). I took of the cap as soon as I got home and eventually I took of the bandana too. Feels pretty good actually, even though I look kinda funny!
Carie and I met in December of 2001 when my hair was still growing back in from ChemoFest 2000. She was the first person to cut my 'new hair' and I've been going to her ever since. Tonight she cut my hair off for me for ChemoFest 2006. Like she said, we've come full circle...but not in a good way (yet)!
Thank you, Carie for all that you've done for me over the years, for putting up with my crazy cape issues, and most of all for being my friend! Sorry I can't be there for your shower Saturday, but I'll be there in spirit and will even wear pink that day just for you and your baby girl!!!
