After another icky hair day, I couldn't take it and had to wash my hair tonight. But before I did, I whacked off a couple of inches. It's still coming out by the handful and I continue to be amazed that there's anything left on my head at all. I have a call in to Carie to get it buzzed off, but she's about 8.5 months pregnant so I'm sure she's got other things going on. If I can't get ahold of her, I might have to have Linda the wig lady do it, or maybe Cathi.
Speaking of wigs...I got mine today (finally)!!! It's the exact same color as my hair...only it's got a lot more volume and oomph than my hair has ever had. It's got a 'summer cap' lining which is made with a breathable fabric that'll help keep my head cooler in the hot days ahead. Gotta have a cool head!
I am continuing to try to get things in order at work and at home before Friday. Got my Decadron prescription filled tonight, so I'll start taking that tomorrow night (bye bye good night's sleep without Ativan intervention). Labs are tomorrow at 12:15, I have an appointment with Dr. Doane on Friday at 1o:30, then chemo #2 immediately after that. Dad will be my chemo date this week...I'm still in the learning phase of all this, so I'm not quite ready to do it on my own or have anyone else come with me just yet.

I just had to tell you this…I told my mom the story you posted the other day about the spoons. We had a little laugh about it because it is such a good description for what I have been going through. I told her that I was so tired I was going home to sleep and see if I could “find a few extra spoons”.
About 3 hours later my mom called me almost crying. We live out in the country and her driveway is a half-mile long gravel road. Every day she takes her two dogs and walks to the end of the drive to get the paper. This afternoon she walked down, got the paper like normal and on her way back saw something laying in the middle of the road. When she got there and picked it up it was a spoon! Just laying there in the middle of the drive! No one else had been down the road and it was lying right where she had walked not 10 minuets before. It is clean and unbent and not a pattern any of us has seen before.
I have no idea how it got there, but I got my extra spoon for the day ! Just thought I would pass it on.

So glad you and your Mom enjoyed the spoon theory. That is an amazing story about the spoon in her driveway so soon after you and she discussed it. Isn't it cool when things like that happen? It really makes you believe in things happening for a reason and at just the right time!
Hope your appointments went well this week...and congrats on your new hair growth!!!
