Gone tomorrow? We shall see...
Did I say my hair is falling out 'slowly, but surely' a mere 12 hours ago? Well, I spoke too soon...it's falling out fast and furious now. Guess that's what I get for making fun of Sean yesterday!
I had no choice but to wash it this morning so I could go to work and not gross everyone out with my dirty hair again today. Tons fell out after my shower, and now if I touch it I can pull it out by the handful. Needless to say, I'm trying not to touch it...or move my head too quickly...or stand in any windy areas. I'm just amazed there's still any hair left on my head at all! I was hoping to make it 'til Thursday with my own hair here at work and then start wearing my wig on Monday so I could pretend that I got a cool, new 'do over the weekend, but at this rate I'm not sure if that's going to happen.
Honestly, this is the worst part of chemo. It all sucks, but this lets the world know that you're sick, and it's just something else to deal with on top of all the other crap. You'd think they'd have come up with an anti-bald shot or pill by now, but no such luck.
There are good things about losing your hair: no more bad hair days, no more shaving, you save money on hair care products and razors, you spend less time getting ready when you don't have to dry and style your hair, you just plop on your wig or a hat and go!
Oy, I can hardly wait.....
