Gathering Spoons

Sean & Kelly circa 2001
(my hair was growing back from ChemoFest 2000...
Sean's still waiting for his to grow back!)

My goal this week is to try to do everything I can at work and at home before Friday while I still feel good and have lots of spoons...running errands, doing laundry, paying bills, etc. I know that there are days coming that I won't feel like doing much and won't have many spoons to spare (see 'The Spoon Theory' below (6/13) if you don't know what I'm referring to).

Sean and I have been in contact the past few days. I think he's going to go to chemo with me when he's in KC (from Michigan where he lives) for either Thanksgiving or Christmas if our schedules mesh. As he said, "it's a date...a very strange chemo date"! He always makes me smile. Except when he compares his "frat boy baldness" to chemo-induced baldness...crazy guy!

Not much else happening other than my hair still falling out slowly but surely, you can only avoid washing your hair for so long. I go for my weekly bloodwork on Thursday in preparation for Chemo #2 on Friday. I created a spreadsheet today to log my counts...exciting stuff going on in the world of Kelly, let me tell ya! ChemoFest 2006 continues.

*** Happy Birthday, Diane!!! ***
Wishing my rainbow friend the happiest of days!

Hi Kelly-

I just wanted to let you know I stopped by to check your blog. You seem to have such a great way of thinking about things!

I hope you have lots of spoons every day! I loved that story by the way :)

Keep fighting the good fight!
