"Sparkle like a star, Shine like the sun, Be who you are, You are the greatest one!"
That is what Ashley's card said on the inside, and this is a picture of the God's Eye she made for me. Amazing!
Thursday has always been one of my favorite days...that's a little known fact about Kelly Martin. I think it's because of the anticipation of the weekend ahead. Friday and Saturday are fun (but can sometimes be too much pressure), Sunday is great (but kinda sad since Monday is the next day)...but I've always liked Thursday because it feels like the unofficial beginning of the weekend to me.
Today was another good day, still feeling well physically and mentally. I even went for a short walk this morning before work. I've really missed working out, so it felt good to just be able to be outside moving. I went much slower than normal, and didn't walk nearly as far...but it still felt great!
Cathi and I went back to see Patti at Brian Joseph's to try on the wigs again. I think I've pretty much got it narrowed down to a shorter one that is almost the same exact color as my hair. This'll make Mom happy, she loves my hair short. The wig is on order and I'll go back next week to buy it. Thanks so much for taking a long lunch hour and being there with me today, Cat!!!
Good thing I've got one on order with Patti cuz I got a call from Missy's Mirror today saying that the wig I tried on there last Friday did not come in this week and is still on back-order. They do have another one in my color that came in today that I will go try on tomorrow after my company picnic.
Hair loss typically begins around days 14-17 after your first chemo treatment. Last time, mine started right on schedule on day 14. Tomorrow will be day 14 for me, so I expect my hair to begin falling out this weekend.
Soooo....my plan for tomorrow is: go to have blood tested at 9:45am, go to picnic for awhile to see my friends & their kids and eat some free food, then go to Missy's Mirror for more wig stuff. After that...who knows??? It'll officially be the weekend then!!!
Thank you to Paula M. for the sweet card! Thank you also to Mary Catherine & Harry, Aunt Lucille, Charlene & Bill, and Bill for the lovely card and the surprise inside which will most definitely be put to good use next week!!!

I just finished reading a charming book that I came across in an exercise book I had read. It's called
The Little Locksmith (A Memoir) by Katharine Butler Hathaway. I knew nothing about it except for some comments off the web where I checked it out. I borrowed it from the library. It was published a long time ago (1943) and was out of print for a long time. Check it out and see if your interest is sparked.
Love you dearly,
Aunt Cathy,
I looked this book up on Amazon.com, it sounds amazing. I am going to look for it when I'm out and about running errands tomorrow.
Love you too,
Kelly
