Wigging Out

First and foremost, I want to say.....

~*~*~*~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~*~*~*~
to two of my best friends, Michelle & Cathi!!!

What are the odds that I'd meet two such awesome people with the same birthday? I'm thinking of you both today and hoping you each have a wonderful day!!!

It's been a pretty good weekend so far. It's hot out there, so I've stayed in as much as possible. Having gone through chemo in the winter the first time, I definitely think that's the way to go. The heat is just nauseating to me right now. So, if and when I go out, I try to do it later when it's cooler and when there aren't as many people around.

Mom and I went to Brian Joseph's yesterday to look at more wigs. They definitely have a wider variety of styles and colors than Missy's Mirror. We still didn't buy one though, mainly because neither of us could remember what the wig looked like that I tried on the day before at Missy's (duh!). I am dreading the whole hair loss thing and I'm just not getting into the wigs since it's so dang hot, and truth be told I really don't want to do all of this again (ever the rebel). Regardless of all that, I'll have no choice but to make a decision this week and just get on with it since I'm quickly running out of time. Seems that once you're an adult, being rebellious really affects no one but yourself. What fun is that?!!?

Food seems to be tasting a bit better...after wig shopping, Mom and I went to Cinzetti's (an Italian buffet) for lunch yesterday and everything tasted pretty good. If you haven't been there yet, you should check it out...it's like being in a big Italian kitchen and just walking in and helping yourself to whatever you want. While we were out, we also stopped in Borders so I could pick up my new bookclub book (Jennifer's selection for this month: 'Daughter of Fortune' by Isabel Allende...which I'm loving so far). Great timing because I had just finished 'Honeymoon With My Brother' that morning and I had 20% off coupon!

Nothing much is on tap for this coming week other than trying to work, getting wigged out, and having my bloodwork done on Friday. Last week was rough, here's hoping for a better week!

This is for the birthday girls...and everyone else too:

May you all be blessed!!!

Hi Kelly,

Michelle led me to your blog site. I'v spent the last hour reading all the blogs and comments! (lol) I had heard from Tony you were sick again. (yea, I still talk to him once in awhile)

Sorry about all the rotten things you have been going through. I have a lot of friends here in Columbus that have been going through cancer as well. Cancer is quite the demon these days.

Your blogs are like reading a book. You are very good with words.

Loved the pic of you and Michelle. Of course, that is how I still remember the both of you. It's hard to believe we are all in our 40's now. Of course I think I'm the only Granny so far. I have two grandson's. Skyleer 4 and Gabe 2. I have really enjoyed them.

I admit I'm a little jealous of not being in the friendship loop you, Michelle, and Vinda have. :( I miss that. I guess I should have gone to college uh? (lol)

Well, if ya ever just want to drive and get away for awhile, you can come to lil' ol' Columbus. That's about as far away from everything you can get! (he he) I'd love to have ya.

You still look as pretty as ever in your picture. I don't think you have ever taken a bad picture.

Keep your chin up. Sounds like you have a wonderful support group. Email me sometime when your not too busy. I'd love to hear from ya. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you always.

Val
